Jasmine and Liezel Rm 6
Waikanae school
Seddon St
Kapiti coast

Wednesday 4th September 2013
Dear Room 21
.
"Hi we are Jasmine and Liezel" ,and we are here to speak about how much power you use and how much power you  can save.

Room 6 is doing a survey about how much power you have been using during lunch times over the last 5 weeks, we have been doing the survey while you guys have been outside playing on sunny days around in the time you do not need to use power.

Do you want to help the world live longer and be a hero then start turning off lights computers and heaters and all electronics that don’t need to be used. Just think about how much power you use a day and how much power you can save. If people continue to think this way then the world will not be as good as it could be. So spread the word to save power and be a hero. I believe that
if people change the world will be  better place.

The amount of power been used on heaters 75% on and 25% off so that is not as good as we could do. I believe we can improve so turn off heaters when they are not needed. Also we have tallied how much power is used on projectors, 75% on, 20% off and 5% has no projector. So try to improve in what you can.

All of yous should improve because the money you save by turning off power stuff, could be spent on sports gear or more fun trips to go on.

have you  ever wondered how electricity is made you may be surprised that electricity comes from magnets. But  some power places have coal fired generation which use's a lot of coal and that is bad for earth. So the more you save power the less coal gets burned and the better the world is.

So remember to to turn off lights and electronics, remember even a switch left on can use power. Just think about all that power you can save. Thank you  for listening.
Your sincerely
Liezel and Jasmine

Hi we are Duncan George and James
the reason we are sending you a letter is because you chose to participate in a power survey to see how much power you are using and how much you need to save.

You left your lights on and 3 of your desktop computers still on children's accounts this is a waste of school electricity it would be much better if that money was spent on  pleasurable things like sports gear books and field trips.

we noticed that you had fish and they had their habitat lights on we wanted to see if they could do their part so we searched it up on the internet hey should be able to survive with just sunlight so we ASK (we know that you might feel unhappy about this so we want to put this into your mind: turning  off their lights this is an idea and it is up to you and the rest of your class)
.

Would it be possible that you make sure to  arrange for someone to turn your rooms lights desktop screens and projectors off during break times when nobodys inside and using them. If there is not so many bills there will be more time for teachers to do stuff that they would rather do than pay bills.  this money should be sent on fun stuff like sports gear, books, arts gear,a new hockey turf,a tarp for the senior playground

yours sincerely Duncan George and James

Now we are in a new classroom and it is a new term we have revamped our class blog with a new look and a new feel.  There are additional pages such as our class newsletters, homework, and more that you can access.
It is exciting to have a refurbished classroom and this has allowed us to try different ways of doing things.
