Bella loved going outside and playing on the the slide and the swing and the pool, she loved climbing trees and running round the yard with her dog Rex. Bella loved the outdoors but there was one small problem, she didn’t protect her self from the sun. She didn’t put sunscreen on or put a hat on, she just went out in shorts and a short sleeve T- shirt. When she came back in from playing outside she would be glowing RED!! But Bella didn’t care, she liked being burnt. She said it made her a pretty a pretty colour. Her mum and dad had told her too many times, “ Do not go outside with nothing to protect you from the sun” but Bella didn’t listen to them, as she said “ I like being red. “
Her mum dad were really worried about her. They had tried to explain what would happen if she kept getting burnt all the time, but that didn’t work. They tried everything but nothing worked. So they tried a UV bead bracelet. They thought it might not work but the more they thought about it the more they thought it work.
They got some UV beads , ( six to be exact ) some cotton ( three colours with each colour about wings span long ) and there daughter, then after a bit of preparation, they set to work. Bella’s mum and dad told her how to make the bracelet. Bella did all of the work herself apart from when she got stuck, her parents had to do a little.
finally, they finished the bracelet. Bella loved the colours of the plated bracelet. She went outside to try the beads out. She got 2 pink, 1 yellow, 1 blue, 1 purple and 1 orange. Her mum told her how the beads work, when the light gets to the beads they change colour and when they are out of the light they go back to white.
Bella suddenly changed her way she goes outside. Bella now puts on sunscreen, wears a hat and makes sure she doesn’t get burnt. But if she ever forgets to put sunscreen on and a hat on, all she needs to do is to look at her wrist and she remembers.
